Create Table of Contents, Table of Tables, List of Drawings Automatically in Libre Office
Table of contents, table of tables and list of figures are usually made at the final stage when writing a final project. To create an automatic table of contents in Libre Office is quite easy. What needs to be done is that each page title or chapter or sub chapter must be written using a heading style. Of course adjust, if the title of the page or chapter uses heading 1 and sub chapters use heading 2. Heading 1 and heading 2 can be set in the style and formatting on the format menu or by pressing F11. Heading settings can be seen in Creating a final project template. After setting the headings and writing the final project at the beginning and the main part, we will create a table of contents. We need to style the table of contents. The table of contents style settings are located in style and formatting on the format menu or press F11. Right click on contents 1, in the paragraph style group, select modify do settings, font color black, effects title, alignment justified.
After that, place the cursor on the page that will be used as a table of contents, then click Insert>Indexes and tables>, set as follows.
If we want the table not to be edited manually, put a check mark on protected against manual changes, but if we are going to edit manually, the check mark is removed. The table of contents has been generated automatically.
Next we will create a list of images and a list of tables. The way to make these two tables is the same, the only difference is the title. To create a table list, we first edit the indexes and tables, click insert>fields>others. Type the caption name on the variable tab, for example we will create a description of a table, then the caption name is Table. If we want to make a description of an image, name it Image caption and so on. Arrange as follows
Click insert then close, in the writer window number 1 will appear, just delete it first. Then we will give a name or description of a table or picture, if the picture uses an image caption, if the table uses a table caption, and so on for the others. Create a table according to the text or image, right click on the table or image, select caption. do the following settings
We can set the table name style in the Table style in the style and formatting menu in the format or by pressing F11. If there is no heading 1 in our writing, then the table number does not contain the heading number. Next, we will create a list of tables, by clicking Insert>indexes and tables>indexes and tables. do the following settings
Done, we have created a list of tables automatically. We can add other tables, then we update them by right-clicking on the list of updated indexes and tables tables. Quite easy.
